I'm getting a smart board

I am super excited! I was chosen as 1 of 8 teachers in my school to get the first round of SmartBoards!! They are coming on Friday to survey my room for installation and then hopefully it will be installed soon after that. I am SO excited but I have no idea where to even begin with using it in class. I would love to get some ideas on how others use them in their classroom. I have some ideas how to use it in our math program because our math program comes with quite a few technological components. I would love to hear how others are using their SmartBoards in their classrooms or if you know of websites that have pre made smart board lessons please share it. I can't wait to read what all you wonderful teachers do with your SmartBoards!

  1. It is the best tool I've ever been given. I would suggest you take a course if one is available near you. Our system provided one and it helped a lot. Today I used the Smartboard for a writing lesson on personal narratives and for a history lesson. I showed a Youtube video about the pilgrims. I also pulled up an Enchanted Learning map of Florida that I had given for HW. We were able to correct it together using the different Smartboard tools.Just about every day I use it for at least one lesson. It really changes your thinking. Christine

  2. you will love your Smart Board!! There are SO many uses and part of it is just playing with it.

Log on to Smart Technologies, Smart Exchange, and you can get lessons that have been made by other teachers. I download, add/delete as necessary, to create what I want. After you have seen the lessons, you will come up with your own ideas.

I use the SmartBoard all day!!
